92.7 BIG FM KOLKATA PRODUCES A ‘GREEN SONG’ ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY TO URGE THE CITIZENS TO CONNECT WITH NATURE AND AVOID POLLUTION

The MJs from the radio station came together to create an A capella music based song promoting the message, “If music can be gadget free, life can be plastic free as well”
Kolkata, 9th, June 2018: 92.7 BIG FM, one of India’s largest radio networkshas produced a ‘Green Song’ on the occasion of World Environment Day with an aim to encourage the people of Kolkata to conserve nature and lead a pollution-free life. The song has been created without the use ofany electronic instruments or gadgets, to reflect on the UN’s Initiative-#BeatPlasticPollution. Referred to as the Green Song based on its ‘A capella’ music approach, it is aimed at spreading the message that “If music can be gadget free, life can be plastic free as well”.A music video of the song has also been released on social media platforms of the network.



92.7 BIG FM Kolkata amplified the radio network’s ideology of providing entertainment with a cause by addressing the pressing issue of plastic pollution through the ‘Green Song’. The crisp and meaningful lyrics appeal to the citizens to build a clean and green environment and connect with nature. Through this captivating music video, the radio station aims at making the locals aware of the various measures that can contribute towards building pollution free surroundings.
The video showcases BIG MJs Sumanta, Nilanjan, Pamela, Khas Koushik and Shruti singing the song along with beatboxing. The video captioned #beatboxing #beatplastic #acapella has been trending on social media with positive comments from the audience applauding the creatively conceptualised idea.
Speaking about the song BIG MJ Nilanjan said, “We wanted people to not only talk about the issue but also contribute towards eradicating the use of plastic completely. Music has always been the best medium to connect with audiences across demographics and 92.7 BIG FM has always strived to create content that resonates with the listeners. The positive response received for the music video is indicative of the fact that the messaging is reaching out to the masses.”
Sharing her experience of creating the song MJ Pamela said, “It was really great working on this song and the fact that all BIG FM Kolkata MJs are together in this video makes it even more interesting. We all are connecting with our listeners through this engaging video song and passing the message of boycotting plastic. I hope more and more people take notice and work towards making our surroundings plastic free.”

The song concludes with ‘Gane gane sobar voruk pran’ which translates to ‘All that life should be filled with is music/songs” which further connects with the message of going back to the nature and making life plastic free.
