The Bharatiya Janata Party has emerged as the single largest party in the KarnatakaAssembly, but has fallen short of the halfway mark to form a government.

In in a quick turn of events, Congress announced that the party was willing to support the Janata Dal (Secular).

Election in the R.R. Nagar constituency in Bengaluru has been postponed following the seizure of over 9,000 voter ID cards. Election in Jayanagar in the city has been countermanded following the demise of BJP candidate and sitting MLA Vijay Kumar.
