Chinese Higher Education EXPO 2018

Aditi,5th May,2018,Kolkata: Consulate General of People’s Republic of China and West Bengal Government joined hands together to organize Chinese Higher Education EXPO 2018 on 10th and 11th May 2018 at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Newtown, Kolkata. In EXPO different universities, colleges and institutions are giving opportunities to the students to study in China and build up the best career possible. The Consulate General Mr. Ma Zhanwu heartily welcomes and encourages students to come forward and make their future and help to find the right course and path that the students need.

Eminent people like Dr. Achyuta Samanta-Founder of KISS and KITT, Mr. R.S Shukla-Additional Secretary of Higher Education Govt. of West Bengal, Subrata Mukhopadhya-Hon’b Minister in Charge, Dept of Public Health and Engineering And Panchayat and Rural Development, Govt. Of WB, Mr. Debasish Sen-Managing Director of Hidco Ltd. And other dignitaries were present in the inauguration of this event. The inauguration ceremony was followed by special cultural programme of China.

More than 50 Educational institutions from eleven provinces and municipalities were present showcasing their courses and facilities that they would provide for the students who would join them. Institutions like Guizhou Medical University, School of Electric Engineering Xi’an Jiaotong University, Kunming Vocational and Technical College of Industry, Xichang University etc have put up their institution for various courses. Subjects like Fine Arts, Engineering Management, Wildlife and Nature Reserve Management, English, Electronic Commerce, Agronomy are available in these institutions and even courses like Martial Arts, Public Health, Vocational Trainings, Tobaccos, Applied psychology are also provided by these universities.

These Universities and Colleges also provide scholarships for students who do not know Chinese from the respective Institutions. Various other scholarships are also provided and accommodation and other expenses will also be taken care of by these institution. Not only academics but also various cultural development will also help the students enrich their overall performance.

This program is definitely a boon for a developing country like India and especially West Bengal. It will give the students various career options that they may choose from and it would help both the countries to develop and make a better world. The EXPO is a part of the on-going effort of the Chinese Consulate to promote cultural and educational exchanges between China and the five states in Eastern region of India, namely, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. We look forward for programmes like this that would help students to get opportunities for a better future.
