Now that the year is at its end, let's go down the memory lane and see some best filmy creations of 2k17.

1.    Newton:



Rajkumar Rao lived up to the expectations and delivered an amazing film. Not only the screenplay, acting and direction is praiseworthy but so is the wonderful and hatke script and plot. The film depicts the voting scenario in the naxal hit rural areas of India. The film is certainly an eye opener. Raj Kumar Rao grabbed the award for ‘the best actor’ in the Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

2.    Trapped:

Another marvelous performance by Raj Kumar Rao. This film is scary and thrilling that will raise goosebumps! The actor is said have lost a ton of weight for acting in this film.

3.    Kadvi Hawa:


This film is based on how global warming affects agriculture. This film portrays how people struggle when their survival is questioned. Veteran actor Sanjay Mishra plays the role of debt ridden farmer. Ranvir Shorey and Tillotama Shome are also present in the film in important characters.

4.    Lipstick Under My Burkha:


This film had faced a lot controversy. LUMB explores the issues relating to the identity of a ‘woman’ and how a woman is judged in an Indian society like never before. What’s more the film is packed with humor and satire! Ratna Pathak, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumar and Plabita Borthakar are seen in main roles. And what a performance they have given! CLAPS!!

5.    Tumhari Sullu:


Vidya Balan again proves She is the She-Shehansa of Bollywood with Tumhari Sullu. It is a coming of age story of a housewife, who gets the job of an RJ at the late night slot of an FM channel.

6.    Hindi Medium:


This film gives you a slice of life. It is light hearted but it no less hits your nerve. Irfan Khan and Saba Qamar play the roles of parents who want their 5- year old daughter admitted in an English medium school. It takes a satirical approach on how middle class parents taught in a vernacular medium gives excess importance to English education.

7.    Jagga Jasoos:


Director Anurag Basu may have antagonized Rishi Kapoor with his marketing, and release strategy; and disappointing a certain section of the audience but it cannot be denied JJ is definitely a ‘breezer’ from the usual rom-coms and Bolly masalas. Ranbir Kapoor aka our Jagga has again proven his mettle in acting. After a long time bollywood has brought a film for the children.

8.    The Ghazi Attack:


‘The Ghazi Attack’ is based on a true story of the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. Critically acclaimed Actors like Kay Kay Menon, Tapsee Pannu, Atul Kulkarni and Rana Duggabati are seen in prominent roles. This low budget film in no uncertain terms does pack a punch.

9.    Haramkhor:


This film is a love triangle involving a teacher (played by Nawazuddin Siddique) and his two students. This is on offbeat film with a desi tadka. Newbies Irfan Khan and Mohd Samad have given applaudable performances.

10.  Bahubali 2 The Conclusion:


Now how can we say bye bye to 2017 without mentioning Bahubali 2. It is a fantasy-action film made originally in Telugu and Tamil have been dubbed in Hindi and has rocked the box office like never before. From elaborate sets, to romance, singing and dancing, music, VFX and graphics Bahubali2 has been the envy of other producers and directors. Thanks to Bahubali 2, every young girl wants her beau to be like Prabhas and every young man wants her dream girl to be like Anushka Shetty! Winks
